  3D text effects

  hi guys, im a newbie to aftereffects.

  Is it possible to add effects to 3D text in after effects, such as blur or drop shadow for example? Every time i try to do it, the text disappears. Is there something easy i am missing out on or is it just not possible to do. If not, is there any other ways of doin this?

  [Dave LaRonde] “Or you can simply turn the text layer back into a 2D layer and use the Drop Shadow effect.”

  You can also use Drop Shadow on a 3D layer if you’re so inclined.

  ok, cheers for dat. ive managed to get to work. so this means that the effects tools aren’t used im guessing. is it possible to apply them to 3D text such as the blur for example? Do you know how i use these effects on 3D text? Thanks for the help,
