  linking scale to audio

  I Want to link scale of a layer [any layer] to music. I think that expression could be a solution – but to what property of audio layer have I link the scale to? I suppose that’s not the way. So I tried audio spectrum/waveform filters – but still I can’t find any property, to which I could link the scale of layer, I want to scale.
  The question is: how to get “value” of an audio, so I could pass it, as a scale [opacity, etc] for other layer[s]?

  You’re headed in the right direction. There is a “Convert Audio to Keyframes” command somewhere in the menus that will create keyframes that correspond to the audio’s levels (these keyframes don’t actually do anything when you change their values, but you can reference them with expressions).

  This from Dan Ebberts to tie audio levels to a specific scale amounts, linear interpolation. A 0 audio scale is 75, at 33 the scale is 105.

  a = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
  minAudio = 0;
  maxAudio = 33;
  minScale = [75,75];
  maxScale = [105,105];
  linear(a,minAudio,maxAudio,minScale,maxScale)
