How to use the Event library correctly
Hi,
I could do with some advise, I find it strange that when you have a new project the Event library doesn’t re-set for that project, meaning every project has all of you media in this is frustrating as i work with projects that require large amounts of media. I know it keeps it in its own events which is good but my main concern is the use of Key words there just seems to be too many!
For example I just imported a new collection of media for a new project went to log it but my keyword editor is full of old logging words from the last project! Can i change these words with out changing the logging on the old projects?

Think of the new browser as having the same basic things as FCP 7… i.e., an FCP 7 project has become an Event, and Bins have become keywords… you can have as many or as few keywords as you choose.

So if in an old Event I have used Keyword space 1 as “City wide” in event two can i delete that description and replace it with a new one with out it changing the “city wide” meta data I had laid in my old event??
Also i wasn’t so impressed with the auto analysing and smart collections, it took 3 hours to scan all my media and got pretty much none of it right for instance almost all of the shots just have one person in it and it found two shots for this smart collection! the shot size’s it got totally wrong dont think ill use this function again.

As far as I know, keywords are associated with the Event they were created in, so changing one shouldn’t delete the keyword collection from a different event.
