  No way to achieve a “fit to fill edit” in FCP X???

  So I have a 1 second clip that I’d like to stretch to fill a 3 second gap in my timeline. But when I do this with the Retiming Tool, I only succeed in pushing the others clips further to the right.

  Is there no way disable that pushing function so that (with retiming tool) I can timestretch stretch my clip until it completely covers the gap before touching the next clip in the timeline?

  I’m able to do this when I add clip as a secondary storyline, but the problem is that snapping then doesn’t work even though it’s turned on.
