List of graphics/video cards comparable with FCPX?
I have done a bit of googrling and I am amazed that there does not seem to be a list of Graphics cards comparable with FCPX (I think I am simply looking for the cheapest on). Anyone found one? Alternatively can people post what worked for them and I may put together a list. Saying they must be OpenCL is not much use as it is not something that manufacturers do not (currently) mention (up to now it has been of no interest to end users).
A article from CreativeCOW listing graphics cards that are compatible would be great.
I supposed I should not be surprised apple do not provide any useful information as this is typical of there attitude. They don’t really care about existing hardware users, they only care about selling us new computers, my next one may be a hackingtosh;).

This is a list of cards that are not comparable (and Apple have used in there computers), I am afraid this is of no use.

Ben, I’ve been wondering the same thing. So far, there have been a lot of reports that the ATI Radeon HD 5770 works well.
What other cards are people using?

No the spec for what if must have is actually there.. must support Open CL. So any card that does will be compatible. Might simply look at the specs of any card, and if it does support Open CL, it’s compatible.

Ya know? The funny thing I’m seeing is that my old 8 core machine has a card that is “not supported”. But the app runs fine as far as I can see with the X1900 card I have in there…?
I’m unclear as to what I might be “giving up” using it however. Been using my laptop to play with it mostly.
Runs just peachy on my 17″ MBP 2.2 i7 though.
