I have used a preset of a starfield followed by a radial blur so that the points of light become streaks. What I want to do is to set up a mask to gradually blend off the outer edges of the streaks so they don’t touch the edges of the screen. When I apply a mask with feathering, it masks out the points Before the radial blurring takes place. How do I apply the mask After the radial blurring takes place?

    Thanks!

Pre-Comp the layers you want masked (select them and hit ctrl+shift+c) then apply the mask to the precomp….

lots of effects need to be pre-comped, even if there is only one layer, before you can apply additional effects or transformations….

Thanks, the answer was so obvious that I missed it!
