  • Taking the background out without a green screen background for AE 7.0 Standard

Posted by Learnae on September 6, 2006 at 10:07 am

I have seen effects in movies where someone is walking along and then all the sudden the person is stopped in motion and the backround taken out or turns to a solid color and maybe something is said or words pop up about the person and then it goes back to the person walking down the street again.

How do I get thr person out of the background then make the background blue or whatever color then stop him for a few seconds and then have it go back to the guy walking down the street with the original background?

Any help would be very appreciated.

You can use a mask to achieve this effect.

ie. go to the point you want the person to ‘pop out’. Using the pen tool, draw a mask around that person. Stick a coloured solid or whatever you want the bg to be behind the person popping out. Then have your original layer below and animate opacity of the above layers to get effect.

That’s sounds awesome – I will try it.

    Thank you.
