  NO AUDIO : Canon 5D Mark III + BMD Ultrastudio Mini Recorder + Wirecast

  Hi everyone,

  Thanks in advance for your time and precious advices.
  And sorry if there is any spelling mistakes, english is not my first language.

  So…

  I often use Wirecast with the Mini recorder and the ATEM Production 4K 1/ME . Everything has always worked fine so far.

  I now need to make a mobile live stream with my 5D (1.2.3 firmware) and i was thinking about using 5D + Hdmi cable + Mini Recorder + Wirecast.
  I succeed to see the image in Wirecast but no audio (except from my MBP laptop). It looks like that there is no audio sent trough the HDMI.

  Someone did face this problem or know how to fix it ?

  I think i can try to use an USB microphobe directly on my laptop… but i’d rather prefer a microphobe on my DSLR of course.

  This is correct, there is no audio carried out over the HDMI. You can try the headphone jack and send this feed to to Wirecast. Or double system with line out from the recorder to the Wirecast.

  Jérôme,

  There are several USB audio in devices you can use in conjunction with an audio program to record. (Griffin Technology iMic USB Audio Device or Behringer U-Phoria UM 2 Audiophile 2×2 USB Audio Interface with XENYX Mic Preamplifier) Do you have an iPhone or Android smart phone? There are also recording apps that let you hook up mics to make a sort of ZOOM recorder. Then there is the ZOOM H4N or other model or a Tascam DR-40 record audio.
