  How to do the Blow Out Effect in AE

  I’m not exactly sure what this is called or if there is a name for this effect I want to achieve but I call it blow out. It’s when a scene seems to blow out white really fast then switch to the next scene, there might be some blur to it but they usually go so fast I can’t really tell. I see it in movie trailers a lot and a few flash animations I think it’s an awesome effect.

  Please help me to achieve this effect in After Effects 7.0 standard.

  From Aharon Rabinowitz’ tutorial:

  You’ll need Quicktime 7 to view.

  Basically it involves applying the “Levels” effect to the project (say, to an adjustment layer). Good information. I highly recommend watching this and Aharon’s other tutorials.
