I was wondering if it is possible to stream a canon HF G30 via HDMi over the Ethernet? To put this in some context, I was in a school as a Drama teacher, we are performing a musical in a hall and I want to show a video link to the cast in the green room downstairs underneath the performance space. I have a canon HF g30 and was trying to go from the HDMi to Ethernet and then into a tv in the green room – using a HMDI cat 5 Balun. it worked on short Cat 5 cable but when I used a 30 metre cat 5 cable nothing. any help? and is theior another alternative I could use. The distance is about 30 -60 metres depending on how the cable is laid.

    Hopeing someone can help cheers

    Nigel
