  Aperture problem on 60d?

  Very new to DSLR’s but have HD cam and DV and film background. I have a very new 60d and can’t seem to move the bar in manual format which allows me to lighten or darken the image. Manual suggests that I press UNLOCK button but nothing happens either. Image on my 3.5 zoom is also very dark and I can’t lighten it due to problem above.

  When I go Auto, I can slide by 1/3 or 1 full “stop”.

  Is there a secret here wherein I can use the slider in manual?
