    Hey guys,

sorry if this is a repost, I didn’t see anything else.

I am fairly nubish with a camera, trying to move a little out of post and want to start shooting stuff. I have this collaboration project where I need to shoot arms and hands POV for a short. I need the entire arms and hands to be in focus (not just the hands and the arms blurry) and some objects that the actor would be holding.

What kind of lens would be best for this? Thanks for your help, this site has been great for assistance in the past.

You’ll need a wide-angle lens for your DSLR. To keep everything in focus you’ll just need to stop-down to F5.6-F10 and then you won’t need to pull focus. But you would need a way to mount this on or around your action.

Actually the easiest thing I can think of to do something like this is to grab a GoPro and strap it on whomever and hit record. GoPro’s have a wide angle lens on them already and are used for a good amount of POV work. You may look into that as an option….especially since they cost less than a quality lens would.
