Monitor for Canon 5dmkii
I am well aware that this question has been asked a thousand times already and that is precisely my problem…
Two-three years ago, when I purchased the camera it was still a bit unclear to most people the way the mk2 outputs the signal to monitors and there were several complications and need for cropping, rescaling and perhaps other issues as well. At the time hundreds of posts were written regarding that. I could not wait for a solution and had to go on with a film solely on a eyepiece/magnifier.
Now, several years later, I am starting a new film production and searching the market about a monitor to use with my mk2. I believe/hope that until now several brands must have come up with ways to deal with the mk2 output limitations. I am totally lost with all this posts and the current situation is unclear to me as many now focus on the new mk3 or the c300 etc.
Could someone help me and list 5-6 monitors that are fully compatible with the mk2 without any of the above mentioned, initial limitations that the camera had?

There’s no “special” monitor. Most monitors now have a DSLR mode so you can see the image as accurately as possible. If you’re in the market I’d have a look at:

We use them on a 7D, 5DIII, and a C300 as well as various recording devices as needed (Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle, etc.). I don’t have much experience with the others in the list….just passing along what I’ve read. Please do your homework and confirm that the monitor meets your needs.
