  • Custom View 3D Camera Question

Tried this over on the COW with no answer. Maybe because it’s too basic?…

I am looking at my 3D composition with “Custom View 1” selected. I like the angle, but for some reason have had a difficult time getting the comp camera in the same position. Is it possible to discover what position the “Custom View 1” camera is in, so that I can set my comp camera there? If not, is it possible to render out the view of “Custom View 1” so that I could use it as an element later?

Not sure on this one. Have you tried leaving the comp set to Custom View and rendering it?

Elsewise, I can only suggest trial and error to match that view. Maybe create a solid, position it so it exactly fills the custom view, then work on adjusting your camera to do the same thing.

Hi Dave, did you have any luck finding the position co-ordinates for the custom view cameras? I need the same thing myself! hope you can help! Thanks.

No firm info yet. I thought I heard Brian Maffitt mention it in one of the AE Total Training disks, but I havn’t been able to find the spot yet.
