  Mounting a DSLR or EX-1 on an Electric Bicycle

  I’ve been doing research on mounting a camera on an Electric Bicycle. The DSLR weighs 3-4lbs. I don’t own a DSLR. The EX-1 weighs 5.25lbs. I own the EX-1. I found online the Manfrotto 244 Variable Friction Magic Arm $100. Holds 6.61lbs. (According to BH) You can purchase a clamp $20. Holds 33lbs (According to BH) Am I pushing my luck with the Sony EX-1? I want to save money.

  My other option is to get the Manfrotto 244RC Magic arm with quick release bracket (I don’t trust the quick release) $149. Holds 8.82lbs.

  Or Manfrotto 143RC Magic arm, quick release $184. Holds 8.82lbs w/quick realease. I’d like to use the EX-1 but even though they claim the magic arm can handle 8lbs I could be pushing my luck? And maybe I should rent a DSLR. I don’t know, I’ve never done anything like this before. Also is the magic arm smart to use for the this purpose? I haven’t read anywhere in the descriptions that it could be used for bicycle work or not. Any help would be great.
