  Newbie needs help with mpeg2

  Hiya all,
  I am a newcomer, currently using AE 6.5 standard. I can export to mpeg2 but not import it ? I checked the book and I think it said 6.5 standard only imports mpeg1. So is it the version I’m using, or maybe something wrong with my computer ? When trying to import mpeg2, my computer crashes.
  I would appreciate any help.

  That’s probably correct, I don’t think AE supported importing MPEG-2 until version 7.

  MPEG (1, 2, or 4) is not a very good editing format to begin with. You’re always best off to convert your footage to an AVI or image sequence for best performance.
