something is terribly wrong-In AE i’ve been rendering animated compostitions into basic quicktime clips and everything has been fine, but everytime i render this one composition and play its quicktime version, it freezes and does not play smoothly. It is a simple set of jpgs animated as moving across the screen.
Does anyone know what could be wrong??

What codec have you rendered your animation to? If you have rendered the QT as a ‘None’ compressor (uncompressed video), and your drives are not fast enough, that my account for the bad playback.

I have seen exactly what you are describing when attempting playback of a uncompressed file from a 7200rpm drive.

Hi, Im not sure how to change the compressor when rendering to QT… which menu do i look in? I’ve just been using the presettings. So if i can compress my renderings, i may have better playback?

thank you so much for all the help you’ve been giving me, everything has been working out so far!

    apple_m for make move

click on where it sayes Lossless in your output Module

    click on Format options

under Compression type select something like photo jpeg and change your quality to High

you will then be able to play back your animation without it stutering.

Alternatively if you have got Quicktime Pro export it as another option
