16:9 Question.
I’m a newbie with after Effects, so please bare with me.
I’ve just started to use my new Sony FX 1 and have shot a short interview in 16:9 (standard definition, not in HD) and filmed against a blue screen. I captured the footage into premiere pro, and edited out the bad bits before exporting to DV AVI, and then importing that footage into after effects for compositing work.
I have a laptop with a widescreen monitor, and when I view the raw footage full screen, I have narrow bars at the top and bottom of the screen, which I guess is normal.
Here is my problem.
When I import the footage into after effects it looks fine, but when I export back out from there to DV AVI, and then view that footage full screen… the image then becomes stretched vertically… giving me narrow black bars either side of the screen.
The only reason I noticed this was because when I imported the After Effects footage into premiere pro for the final edit, it did not fit the project window correctly.
I’ve been rendering out to DV AVI in premiere, could this be the cause ? and I am rendering out to the same format in After Effects.
I have tried composition settings and interpret footage options in After effects and I am still getting the same results. .mov files where no better either.
Please help, and thanks for your time.
Steven.
