  AE 7 Import problem

  In AE 6 I could place my footage into my comp. It would be wherever the time cursor was. In 7 when I import it always starts @the beginning of the comp. What am I doing wrong or what little button am I missing? This is killing me, I’ve got to get this project done. About to start over in 6 but cant transfer stuff from 7 to 6. PLease help.

  There is a preference for this, and in AE7 it is turned on by default. In the General preferences, uncheck the “Create Layers at Composition Start Time” option.
