    Hey there,

I’m trying to figure the best codec to use when exporting from Avid Xpress Pro DV into AE 6.5.

I’ve tried uncompressed, DV, Avid DV, Video, and square pixels all at 720 x 486 and lower fields first.

My video plays fine in Avid, but in After Effects the video looks like it has tears in it. I shoot NDF, and export out at 30 fps. I interpolate the fields here to lower fields first, so I thought a fields issue wouldn’t be the problem.

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Try the Animation compressor at best quality with no fields. NTSC DV should be 720×480 and D1 at 720×486 with a CCIR-601 0.9 Pixel Aspect Ratio for 4:3 and 1.2 Anamorphic PAR for 16:9..
