Smash effect
Posted by Mirek on October 31, 2005 at 7:05 pmHi,
I am looking for an effect to smash a sequence or picture into pieces like smashing a window.. Do I have to use particle systems to do that ?

October 31, 2005 at 8:09 pmBasically, try reducing the force 1>strength, changing the shape>pattern to “glass” and increasing physics>gravity.
If you want to know more, check out this Shatter tutorial by Ben Unguren on the COW.

October 31, 2005 at 8:58 pmNope, you don’t have to set keyframes — it’s self-animating. Just try applying it to your video layer, then do a RAM preview as it is. Next, change the settings as I described to make it more like what you want.
Only go to the tutorial once you get the basic shattering happening.

November 1, 2005 at 6:37 pmIn the view parameter select Rendered, and you should see the results. The Default is wireframe+forces, thats why you can’t see anything.
