    For DLSR video shooting.

Is there a difference between using a white card vs. a grey card to use as the image to set custom white balance?

I’ve seen some grey cards that have a target on them to focus on while setting a white balance, but haven’t seen a target on any white cards? How important is it that the image used to set white balance is in focus?

    Much appreciated!

I’ve had good results using both white cards and gray cards. I don’t think it matters for setting white balance as long as it’s a neutral shade of gray (R=G=B).
