  Good lens for indoor video far away shot – GH2

  Hello,

  I am filming part of my friend’s wedding with my Panasonic GH2.

  I will be limited to a long shot of the ceremony from a balcony overlooking the event (picture the choir balcony at the back of a church).

  I currently have the standard 14-42mm lens that came with the camera and a Lumix H-X025 prime lens that is good for low light but of course has no zoom.

  I am wondering is there is a lens you recommend for indoor filming that will have zoom for me to get closer in to the action but still be good in low light. I am also hoping to keep costs down, say around $50 to $100. I am fine with buying an adapter for an older lens an using manual focus. I will be using a tripod and be filming from a stationary position.

  Any thoughts?

  A couple of points, first of all at under $100 your only option is to borrow or rent a different lens.

  So you are looking for a fast zoom for a GH2 to rent then? Maybe this one:

  The other issue is that filming from the back like that means the shot is going to be very boring for the bride and groom to watch later. It will just be video of their backs up until the point at the end of the ceremony where they turn around and face the pews.

  Thanks for the info.

  Yeah, I wish we could shoot from other angles/positions. The church will only allow us to set up in that one spot so we are stuck with a boring overview only.

  I bet the church would allow you to set up 2 unmanned GoPro cameras discreetly hidden on the main “stage” facing the couple
