How should I correctly import a Premiere project with Looks and LUTs to After Effects?
Hi there!
I have a Premiere project I got for some AE work.
If I import the project to AE I get a dialogue asking to choose the Looks or LUT (every clip on the timeline got a different one…)
It does not tell me which clip it wants to associate with the selection, and it will repeat (I believe it tries for all clips on the timeline…)
Once it’s “done” by me selecting and guessing (gain, I do not know which clip it tries to connect with the look or lut)
I get an error message
And all the clips on the AE timeline seems as they are missing…If I Copy&Paste from the Premiere timeline to an AE Comp, it does a similar “guessing” associasion with looks and luts, but after I am done, the timeline seems OK (I just need to jump between Premiere and AE to check that the Lumetri Color Effect in AE is the same as Premiere and sometimes fix it…)
I hope I am clear. What am I doing wrong and how should I do it correctly?
I am using Adobe CC Latest updates…

Open the project folder in Pr first.
Convert as necessary.“save as” if converted .
Try importing into an AE composition .
Import the full project folder.
Then if you intend to work them simultaneously use the dynamic link to connect them.
Sometimes a Dynamic link export from Pr does leaves out files in AE.
Find what works for your system.
Taking notes of the Lumetri settings for comparison could aid you in checking accuracy.

Check to see that all of the layer properties are included.Import the full project folder.
Then if you intend to work them simultaneously use the dynamic link to connect them.
Sometimes a Dynamic link export from Pr does leaves out files in AE.
IN the AE Project window look at all files and folders. Do any icons look like a color bar test pattern?
If so select it and right click to get the menu. Select ” Replace Footage”.
if that is the case.
Navigate to the sources folder and find the missing footage. If the project has been sent to you without all files you will need to acquire them.Find what works for your system.

Theoretically import-export should work fine in either or both directions. In the real world success can be a moving target. Some work-arounds will get you through to your deadline using whatever means necessary.
