I got into DSLR video last year because I use both stills and video in all of my projects.
It was a nightmare trying to juggle two cameras all the time.
plus in my opinion, the Nikon D 7000 had a lot of advantages over the camcorders in that price range that I was using.
The advantages for me are mainly in the choice of lenses and DIRECT control over the basic functions that were lacking in the more automated consumer camcorder.

but now I’m wondering since the D4 is going to run about 6K, if there is a dedicated video camera in that price range that would have some of the advantages of the DSLR in video mode and a more user-friendly and convenient package.

    Any thoughts appreciated.
