I am seriously considering buying a Panasonic GH2…sounds like an awesome camera. I have a Nikon ED – AF Nikkor 80-200mm lens and a Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70mm lens. Wondering what adaptor would be best to fit the Nikon lenses to the Panasonic body…and if the lenses work well with auto focus, etc. Wondering also if it is worth buying the camera with the Panasonic lens…or if I should just buy the camera body and use my Nikon lenses. Thanks for any info you can provide!

Panasonic updates this lens compatibility list fairly frequently:

To the best of my knowledge, all the “automatic” (auto focus, auto iris) lenses which work with the GH2 are on that list. Of course, there are many additional lenses that can also be used in manual mode with the GH2 via inexpensive, non-electronic adapters.

There’s at least one 3rd party company which says they will soon ship a lens mount adapter which will support certain features of Canon EOS lenses on m43 cameras. I’m not aware of a similar electronic mount for using modern Nikon lenses on m43.

Personally, I shoot video with my GH2 in full manual mode — including the lens in full manual mode — 99% of the time. This includes whether I have Panasonic Lumix “auto” lenses mounted on the camera, or 40+ year old Nikon full-frame SLR manual lenses mounted via an inexpensive adapter.

    Cheers.
