differents parents for a same shape
Good morning !
I’m new on this forum, also a noob on AE, and my english is not perfect (sorry for this).
Well, I want to make something that seems very simple. But i dont find the way to do it.I have a line, a straight line, made with the pen tool. And i want to one of its two points follow one ellement of my clip. And the second, another ellement.
I learned to use the motion tracker function by creating a NULL layer to apply the track. and using it as the parent of an object.
But my line is one objetc and i want something like two parents for its two extremities….

The age old question… fortunately for you, many have walked that path before. You want to draw the line using the Beam effect. Here’s a tutorial:

The beam effect is excellent. And when you learn to pick whip expressions across layers and across compositions you are just beginning to understand the power.
Look for Angie Taylor tutorials. She patiently explains expressions and shows how simple things build fast into very incredible results.

You can also find expressions and other scripts online. Which you can use, learn or modify.
Dive in, yes it will confound you at times but AE helps you debug errors.
