Here is a short film I recently finished. It’s filmed with a Canon 7D. Some shots were filmed with Nikon lenses. I’d love to get some input.

That’s an impressive short! Loved the contrasting music. And judging from your behind-the-scenes video it looks like you got a lot of bang for your buck: did you shoot in your house with bedsheets for “green” screens? My only criticisms are that it tended to get too dark in shots, and I felt like older actors would’ve made it seem more legit. Otherwise, very cool.

Some questions for you…I’m looking towards moving into the DSLR realm. Any issues during your shoot? What kind of Nikon lenses did you use? Any reason not to use Canon kit lenses?

Regarding AE, how did you matte out the backgrounds without a real green screen? And how did you create those awesome hologram displays? Did you hand-draw those in photoshop and animate them in AE or were they some sort of plug in?

    Great job!
