  How to Transcode d7000 footage for use in Final Cut

  Hi-

  This is a total newbie question but I don’t have alot of experience with transcoding footage. I have a D7000 and I want to make the footage usable in Final Cut Pro. I have Compressor; what do I need to do to get this into Pro Res format, what settings should I use to get it into Final Cut so its looks best?

  ADVANCED FORMAT CONVERSIONS…ProRes for Progressive. But skip the HIGH QUALITY setting, that’s for 10-bit formats…your footage is 8-bit. It will still convert it to 10-bit ProRes, but have a smaller file size. HQ is meant for other formats.
