  Basic PullParser error

  Has anybody seen this error before? I scanned an external G-Tech drive with some .avi files and some of the files came back in the catalog with this import note:

  BasicPullParser: readBytes(): Reached end of stream while trying to read 4 bytes

  I suspect these files might have some issues, but only some of them are coming back with this log note. The only thing I could figure out from a quick google search is that it is java related, but I can’t tell if this indicates an issue with the file or just a java hiccup with CatDV.

  This is CatDV Pro 8.1.11 server running on a Mac Pro 12 core with OS 10.6.8

  Do the files play? If not, there’s your answer.

  If so, then we get to look into CatDV but I seldom see a “good” playable file that won’t import.

  However, I don’t use avi much so it may be specific to that wrapper.

  Do you have a small example file that shows the error that you could send to support@squarebox.com? It might be the file is corrupted but if you have quite a few files that show the same error then it could be an problem in our AVI metadata extraction code.
