Activity Forums Square Box CatDV User-Defined Fields: Date

One of our user defined fields is Date of Production.
Under “Field Definitions -> User-Defined Fields” we’ve set User 5 to “Name” Date of Production, “Type” Date.
The date must be entered Year-Month-Day. If it is entered incorrectly, CatDV rejects it. This is a mandatory field in our catalog, so if it’s entered incorrectly, the catalog cannot be saved.

We have told people how to enter the date, but is there a way to have an example present in this field so people remember to type the year first?

Not in the field, but if you have space, you could add an example to the field name.

    production date: yr-mo-da

It uses whatever date format that you set on the General tab of preferences. If you hover over the field the tool tip text will show an example of the format it’s expecting.
