  • Request Text Wrapping in Text Box

Posted by Peter Smith on May 18, 2018 at 9:53 pm

May I please request the adding of the ability to copy some text from a text file, and then pasting it into DaVinci text box and have it WRAP inside the box properly?

At current, pasting text it just goes one line…then heaps of work manually wrapping it properly inside the text box.

Coming from HitFilm Express, they have that ability, would love to see it in DaVinci please?

Note the text box in the first photo, pasting text into it:

Then notice how text is not wrapped inside the box properly, just 1 straight line…then it’s a lot of manual work to get that looking aligned properly inside the text box.

Any future FIX for this please?

    Thank you:)

Although someone from Blackmagic might have a look here from time to time, feature requests are probably best sent direct to them. Also the latest beta version of Resolve has included new titling options with the inclusion of a Fusion page so this may already be addressed. I’m still on 14.3 so I can’t check for you.

Also it might matter what sort of text document you source from if you want formatting to carry over. I use Boris CC for some titles and if pasting from an .rtf or docx file, some formatting can carry over.

So info on Resolve version and text file format would help to get answers.

    Thanks for your reply.

What is the email to send to to requests to?

And can you install latest version and show me what you mean if it’s possible?

    Thank you:)

Check Blackmagic’s site for their forum. Feature requests are best put up on their own forum. They have a separate section for bug reports.
