  • Crash when video goes to the timeline

Just installed Resolve. Program runs ok and media imports ok. BUT, when I move a clip (any format; 3:4. 16:9, SD, HD, anything) to the timeline, the program crashes fatally – but only motion clips. Still graphics of any size work fine. Have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Any help or advice is appreciated.

What are the specs of your computer? hardware? OS version? (basically, does it have what is needed to run RESOLVE)

What are the specs of the footage? codec? SD and HD are just frame sizes…need things like MP4, ProRes QT, AVI, H.264…stuff like that. And frame rate.

    what are your project settings?

Thanks for your willingness to help!
The platform is Win-7 Pro – 64 bit. 32gb RAM, 1 Tb hard drive w/175g free. All video files are MP4.
    Does that help?

Win 7 is not supported, only Win 10. This doesn’t mean it won’t work but bear that in mind. Also the most important information is your graphics card model and RAM. Blackmagic have information on minimum system requirements to run Resolve. Worth checking.
