  • Resolve slow on windows with the project over 2000 cuts

    Hi,

I have a project which has about 2100 cuts.
Resolve is behaving really slow. Color wheels have about 1-2 seconds delay.
Everything is fine with projects with about 1000 cuts.
    Source is DPX sequences.
The machine has Resolve Studio 12.0.1, Windows 8 64-bit, dual Xeon with 64GB RAM, GTX690, separate Nvidia card for GUI. 20TB RAID5 1500Mbyte/sec

Same behaviour when opening same project on other weeker machine with free Resolve 12.0.1, windows 10 64-bit, i5 with 16GB RAM.

The slowness can be also simply detected by opening project settings and trying to scroll the page up and down. The scrolling stutters heavily.

The project is working fine on i7 OSX Yosemite machine, which is much weeker, than our beast dual Xeon machine.

Does anybody have suggestions, workarounds, experiences, how to get windows machine working?

    Regards,
    Uku

If it works on sequences with 1000 cuts, then don’t do sequences with 2100 cuts.

I would divide the project up into reels (short sequences), then use nested timelines to render out the entire project as a single file.
