I’ve been meaning to give my DSLR-filmed footage a 16mm telecine-ish look but, as a color grading novice with not a lot of cash on me, I’m hard pressed to find a good system to do the trick. I’ve always heard great things about Resolve and how much range I have color-wise, but I’ve also heard about Color Finesse and have seen the results first hand and I can safely say that they match what I’m going for. However, the price tag SERIOUSLY puts me off (nearly $600). Should I just buckle down and save up for Finesse or is there a way for me to pull off the look in Resolve free of charge? If there is, can any one of you on here explain how?

Well Resolve Lite is free so there should be no harm in testing that.

And Resolve lite or paid has LUTs that emulate film stocks so that’s one shortcut to getting your look happening.
