  Question about working with a mulit-layer project

  Hi, I’m new to the forum and I have a question that hopefully somebody knows a workaround for. I have a project that is multi-layer. Layer 1 is my main background layer, and layer 2 are subtitles. The subtitles layer is a tiff sequence with embedded mattes. Both layer 1 and 2 are notched using the same edl. My issue is I don’t need to color the title layer at all but when I play the timeline and stop to color a shot the system stops on the layer 2 event. I assume since its the layer on top and that my edits match this is the way the system works. But I want it to only stop on layer 1 events, is there a secret setting to force the resolve to only stop on layer 1 events and not layer 2? For now my work around is to obviously just go back one event or to turn off the layer 2 but hopefully somebody knows a workaround.
