Davinci Resolve to FCP 7 back to Resolve
I wasn’t going to post this but after much digging online I cannot seem to find a source that will resolve (pun intended) my issue in its entirety. Shooting with the beautiful Blackmagic Cinema Camera. I now have masses of cinema dng footage that I bring into resolve, and export XML as ProRes LT or ProRes Proxy to edit in FCP7 not X. I create a new project in FCP7, open the XLM, do my editing….NOW, how do I take my edit BACK to the original DNG files in Davinci. Exporting as XML at this point from FCP7? Somebody please help and thank you:)

This is covered in the manual. It’s called conforming. You export XML from FCP bring that into resolve, tell it to link to the original camera files (ie DNG).

Thanks for the tip Juan! I didn’t realize that what I was trying to do had a term. I have the “round trip” down apparently, so it’s the “conforming” that I’m having trouble with. More specifically, relinking the original (dng) from the FCP7 XML. I’ll have to look into the manual for that unless you have a quick tip/trick on how to smoothly do that!
