I will use Corsair 128gb GS SSD card as a master storage and 2x 500gb HDDs (RAID 0) as a slave storage.

But I don’t know which applications should I install on SSD or not. And also, I heard that SSDs are dangerous for intensive usage.

Mine main applications will be Windows 7, Adobe CS6, Maya 2013 and Davinci Resolve 9.

Others will be compression apps, media players, codecs and system utilizers.

Can you give advise about where to install them to be able to benefit from the SSD as much as possible? My SSD will be limited with 128gb, so I can’t install too many things on it.

What kind of footage you plan to edit?

Its important to leave some space on the SSD for temporary fils from adobe! Premiere and AfterFX will need some fast space for proper work if you have not much RAM.

I will mostly work with RED and DPX files. I have 16GB 1866 mhz ram. And I will use NukeX.

Is it advisable to use an SSD as only a cache and proxy storage? I won’t plan to install Windows in it.
