  gtx 580 on mac pro 8core early 2008 – absolute beginner!!!

  Hi everybody,
  I’m so sorry annoing whit so basic questions but i’m quite new to this.
  I need a card for my mac pro early 2008 8 core that can basically handle resolve lite and keep using the default radeon 2600 as video card. Think gtx 580 could be the right solutions but needs to know:

  1: Does the nvidia new drivers works whit this setup and let me use the 580 whit every application? I know resolve lite can detect the card and use cuda’s cores even if mac don’t support it directly (I hope!) but if I can use it whit other apps like fc, afterfx and 3d modelling will be cool!

  2: I’ve found this version from zotac:

  But i’m confused ’bout WHY it costs half other versions! Is this ok for my purposes? Are zotac cards good? I’ve heard ’bout cabling issues whit the “classified” version, but can’t understand if this one is good or not!
