I switched back and forth several time between 8.2.2 and 9.0b2 without any problem.

Last week I upgraded to 9.0b3, today I need to fix some credits problem for a closed project several months ago, which you know always happens for oversea distributions. And the upgraded projects crash 9.0b, so I have to switch back to 8.2.2, after start it, I got this popup “Insufficient memory (4095 MB) to allocate 4000 buffers on site 1.”

    Please help me on this.

    Thanks

We can help you if we would know about your system.
Also you could export the project and we could test it.
Just one more thing, R9b3 loves 24 gig of RAM and Lion or Mountain Lion.

Sascha, the project, was running smooth under 8.2.2 months before, under the same hardware/OS environment.
And maybe my last post was sort of confusing, now Resolve 8.2.2 runs improperly even before load the project.
BTW, although 24giga ram and Lion were recommended. As I didn’t have time to upgrade my system yet. My v9.0 has done another feature also upgraded from v8.2.2, which got 2000 redone shots and 600 vfx DPX shots, smooth like silk.

    OS 10.6.8
    12G Ram
    GTX 9600 for GUI
    GTX 480 for CUDA

8.2.2 was running smooth two weeks ago, which as I said, switched back and forth between v9.0b2 and v8.2.2, for more than 10 times.

Today was the first time I switch back to v8.2.2 after upgrade to v9.0b3, and everything just failed.

OS/System were the same, nothing changed.

I had the same issue and when I changed my kern back to 32 bit mode 8.2 worked again.
Maybe worth trying? Not sure if 8.2 works on a 64 bit OS

    Hi Nick,

Since 9.0 is 64 bit, it can use a lot more memory. In order to go back to 8.2.2 settings, just open Preferences in Resolve (in 8.2.2), press save and restart the app. This will reset the settings to 8.2.2 defaults.

When you switch back to 9.0, just repeat the same process to go back to 9.0 settings.

    Thanks,
    Anish
