    Hi there,

I just wondered if anyone had any benchmark tests or anything similar for a Z800 vs Mac Pro when using Resolve?

Curious to know which performs better when rendering with Resolve?

Is there anything in particular with either machine that really stands out that heavily improves performance?

    Many Thanks in advance

    Why not have both? 🙂

Seriously now… It’s still a tough question. I had a limited budget so went the the hackintosh route, but also because I wanted to have one workstation to could handle both FCP and Resolve. For a dedicated Resolve system this might not be necessary. What I really like about the win system is the flexibility in graphic cards, which seems to be the heart of resolve. Mac has less options, plus they’re more expensive. Yes you can flash a gtx 580, but then you’ll also need extra cables, maybe even extra power supply and with the next osx update your flashed card might not work anymore.
