Trying to browse RAID causes immediate crashing
We have tried a couple of RAID-0 configurations with Resolve 8.1 and both have caused crashing as soon as I click on those drives in the Browse window.
First RAID is a 3 drive SSD raid internally on a MacPro
Second RAID is an 8 Drive Mini-SAS Raid, the box is “Areca”. The RAID and files within it are completely accessible in FCP/Nuke/Maya/Premiere.. basically every application we tested except Resolve.
What could possibly be causing this? I would think it might be the Mini-SAS controller card but we encountered the same problem with the SSD Raid.

Just checking, but your RAIDs have been added to the Resolve database?

Media Storage Volumes
In the Media Storage Volumes window select the ‘+’ (add) button to add a volume, folder, or mount point to the list of disk storage for your media. The first location in the storage list will become the default location for images, all proxies, cached files and gallery stills. This location should have plenty of storage capacity and be permanently connected to your Mac. Often this is the internal RAID you have established, but it can be an external drive too.You mean “Old Ben”? Ben Kenobi?

I had a similar problem recently and it turned out to be a defective GFX card. I had 2 GTX285’s in a Cubix expander and one of the went bad somehow. As soon as I removed the board, everything started to work again.
I don’t know if this is your issue but I thought it might be worth looking into.
