Arri LUT included
Posted by Stig Olsen on November 16, 2011 at 1:13 pmHi,
I just noticed that the 3D-lut “arri alexa log-C to rec 709” now is included in the menu. When did this happen? On the latest update?
Is this the same as the one that can be made by the arri generator on their website?

November 16, 2011 at 3:02 pmNo, as far as I remember, this was around in 8.0 maybe earlier. The Arri LUT generator LUT described in Arri’s whitepaper needs to be downloaded and placed in an appropriate folder.

November 16, 2011 at 3:20 pmOk, Guess I just missed it.
So basically that means it does the same job as the built in one. When I apply this LUT the hightlight really blow out. They goes far out of range. Is that the way its suppose to act?

November 16, 2011 at 3:30 pmI’ve used the one recommended by Arri, made by their generator…
Its called…
AlexaV3_K1S1_LogC2Video_Rec709_EE_davinci3d.cubeand that seems fine.
It needs to go in
/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/LUT/Arriwhere you find the existing one called…
Arri Alexa LogC to Rec709.datwhich is what you’re using.

December 5, 2011 at 1:16 amcan you show a screen grab of exactly what setting you have when choosing the setting for generating the LUT?
I just did the 10 bit option but i am curious now because the files i am working with are ProRes444 and in Davincic it says they are 16 bit – this is for a broadcast spot and of course i am working in 10 bit for resolve so any info would be helpful!

August 25, 2012 at 10:27 pmCan’t seem to find the( AlexaV3_K1S1_LogC2Video_Rec709_EE_davinci3d.cube ) LUT within my options.
I checked my lib/application suport/blackmagic/LUT
found this one as a LogC to Rec709:
Arri Alexa LogC to Rec709.dat_3dlutit loads fine in resolve lite.
Could someone point me to how to get this K1S1 LUT you are talking about?
Many thanks in advance.
RTHX
