  • Color Picker to tone down a white object?

    HI All

Quick question… I have a few shots in a feature I am finishing this week that have objects which are white and just a little too bright and I want to tone them down just a hair. One is a plastic band on a white hat and another is a set of white plastic louver blinds. I tried using the color picker to grab the hat band and knock it down a slight bit but it is too close to the color of the hat itself and when I brought it down it made some of the hat just a little noisy.

Any suggestions about how to tweak this? Can I narrow down the color picker a bit or is there a better way? Throwing a window on is possible but it will be allot of tweaking tracker points….

Chroma light preset should pick it perfectly for you, add chroma back in and adjust with any other setting ( primaries, window, key, clips etc) assuming your background doesn’t have the same luminance value.

That was always a job for…. Luminance soft clip, as far back as Renaissance.
