2x GTX285 or 1x GT 120 and 1x GTX 285
I have a spare GTX 285 here and I wonder if I should replace it with the GT 120 card. Any suggestions and good reasons why? Will it increase performance?
(I don´t have slots for all 3 cards)

It will speed up everything else . Maybe even Resolves UI.

It’s a Hackintosh, but it should be pretty simple to add an external powersupply to a Mac Pro. Something like this?

Yes in tech aspect it seems simple but what i wonder is if it will not or will fry something in mac pro if
powered in wrong sequence etc?—

But regarding hackintosh, your energy bill is much more efficient if you swap those old 285s for new 570s.

Nope, its an ASUS supercomputer mainboard with 7 PCIE 16 lanes and enough space for two 570s , one GT220 and the Decklink card.
