    Hello everybody,
I have a little question about cinestyle lut for Canon 5D.
I have a .cube version of the canon lut, i load it on the cinespace folder, everything is ok for that.
But i would like to know, how to manage this lut.

Do i need to use it as an input, output or display lut ?
because i don’t really know what is the difference between this 3 slot on Resolve.

If somebody can help me, it will be perfect.

    Thanks

The input LUT is applied before the Clip/Track color correction. The output LUT is applied after that.

The display LUT is applied right at the end, and is only used for the display viewer. This LUT is not used in the renders.

You can choose these on the Config page in the LUTs section.

You can also apply the LUTs in nodes by using the context menu in the node graph. This lets you control where in the image processing pipeline you would like to apply the LUTs.

    Regards,
    Rohit

If you use it as an input LUT, you’re giving up most of the advantages of working from a log format. The most effective way to use it is just as Rohit described, by including it in a node and grading both before and after it as desired. That way you can recover any information in the image (by grading prior to the LUT) and trim it easily (by grading after it). You can also do any color isolations after it, thus taking advantage of the additional saturation added in the process.
