New Macbook Air maybe a silly question
Posted by Dan Davis on July 31, 2011 at 7:04 pmHi all,
For some on-sight test grading the new Macbook Air with Thunderbolt would be a dream (with monitor).
Would Resolve 8 run on it?
Thanks for any info.
Danny.

July 31, 2011 at 7:55 pmBlackmagic has already said that it does not, but that would be the case anyway because the screen doesn’t have enough resolution for the Resolve GUI, and the Air has Intel graphics (not ATI or Nvidia). You need at least the 15 inch MacBook pro, and even that screen is too small and requires a specific command to shrink the screen so that the GUI can fit on it.

July 31, 2011 at 10:26 pmMacBook Air would be sweet for DSLR Dailies if there was say a “lighter gui” on-set version.
I love my 11″ MBA and it would be nice to be able to at least play around on it as a system refresher, as you can do with the 30-day Nucoda and Baselight trials.

August 1, 2011 at 7:22 amYes, a smaller onset version would be great.
And no, it should not be free, but compatible with the big one .
I would instantly get an Airbook for it tooA slice of color…

August 3, 2011 at 12:12 amContact their sales teams (see FilmLight and Image Systems’ sites) and they can issue them.
I think both companies only release a certain number of demos at a time, so you might not always be able to demo straight away.
