    Hi all,

I am trying to create a very basic rain effect for an animation – have tried playing around with the CC Rainfall effect in After Effects CC 2014. The comp runs for 3 seconds, and all is running smoothly until at random points the effect seems to change direction spontaneously, slows down and then goes back into the original settings I have programmed. Any ideas why this would happen? I have not keyframed any values, so something is glitching. Perhaps this isn’t the best method of generating 2D rainfall, has anyone come across this before?

ae may have cached frames with an earlier setting and isn’t clearing the cache properly, try doing a purge (edit>purge>all memory & disk cache…).

if you notice that it happens frequently with some comps/effects, you’ll want to do that purge prior to rendering those comps too.
