  Red X and missing clip, but not missing

  I have a question about the Red X on the conform page. I have read here that it means that the Resolve could not find a matching clip in the media pool.

  But the sequence I am conforming has a red X on a clip, also a ‘C’ (for a conflict) but I can see the correct clip in the viewer. I am doing a side by side with my offline clip and both shots match. So obviously the shot does exist in the media pool, but the Resolve won’t let me fix the conflict. If I right click and select the 1 shot it recommends and hit apply, the red X does not go away and the ‘C’ remains. Normally I can fix the conflict (not sure why some of these clips have conflicts) and move on.

  This clip does not have any speed effects or anything like that. It is an Avid MXF file (I have the Avid plugin).

  Can anyone shed any light on this? Or could it just be a bug in the 7.1.1 software?

  Look for timecode maybe ?

  Sometimes when timecode is off then clips are missing.

  Which is kind of annoying.
  What if we would get an indicator instead that let us know that the footage is off for an amount X plus or minus.
  Also the ability to slide it into place would help.
  But lets wait an see for Resolve 8.
  The conform was never its strong side.

  Or even, if there’s an X, an option to drag and drop a clip from the pool and then slip it in place. And to see the in point timecode on the new clip which would make it easy if your reference quicktime has source burn-in (which it should!)

  I believe R8 has pretty much this exact function. At NAB they showed a “force conform” option which would force a clip into a un-linked placeholder in the conform page. It will help with any of these types of problems when we want to just say FO EDL, just link this clip to this EDL event.
