    Hello all,

I am in the process of getting onto a resolve at the facility where I work however, I was wondering if I could somehow get it running on another setup where I have no Nvidia card, just a Radeon HD 2600. I saw the other day that Fawaz posted saying that there was a workaround put out but I don’t know if that would necessarily work for me.

    Thanks,
    Stephen

You need a CUDA to launch.

    So that’s a no then.
What would be a cheap way to get this running for me to get up to speed before I get into the driving seat? Is there a cheap Nvidia card I can get?

    Thanks.

Ok, that ATI card indicates you have a fairly old MacPro. I would guess a 3.1 from 2008.
You can either get the nVidia GT 120 from the Apple store for 149
    https://store.apple.com/us/product/MC002ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MTA4MzU2MzE
Or go to ebay and shell out 350 for either an original GTX 285 or a modded 460.
The Gt120 will give you very little power.
Bother options should be used as secondary card, so you can keep the ATI as your primary UI card.

    A slice of color…

    DaVinci 7.1 OSX 10.6.6
Dual Xeon 2,4 RAM 24 GB
    RAID0 8TB eSata 6TB
    GTX 285 / GT 120
    Extreme 3D+ WAVE

I am not doing any proper grading, just using it to get my head around the interface. I think on that basis I should probably go for the GT 120.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,

So if I have a ATI Radeon 2600 with a Nvidia GTX285 I can use Davinci Resolve with no problem?
Or I have to used a Nvidia GT120 anyway?
    Thanks!
